Here is the third track from my EP, 'Tales of a Twenty-Something'.
This song was originally written back in 2011 and was re-recorded for the EP. This song tells a story of a breakup which spawned immediate regret.
lyrics
Lyrics:
It's surprising to see
That you've got such a grip over me.
Well the words that were said
Weren't the ones in my head
And it's likely that there is no key.
To the place that we tried
Where the truth turned to lies,
As you stood there so elegantly.
Not a trick for a treat,
We're not always discreet,
Well it seems that I've fell at your feet.
Don't cry, you're not alone.
I'll be there too.
I won't leave you, here on your own
My heart's fired for you.
If you don't let me know
Then it's hard to let go
Of what's holding me tight.
'Cos I'll toss and I'll turn
Let the lesson be learned,
Well it's keeping me up every night.
If I could only ask you
To stay in my grasp,
Then I wouldn't be singing this song.
Well the time hasn't come
Where our love's been undone,
If we parted well that would be wrong.
Don't cry, you're not alone.
I'll be there too.
I won't leave you, here on your own.
My heart's fired for you.
